Carnage by Shantel Tessier | A Review of the Dark Revenge Romance
Oh my God. this book π π π π π . I have been waiting forever to read this particular book because of the infamous Spade Brothers. So, letβs explore (Spoilers Ahead).
There are four Spade brothers and they run a facility named Carnage which is like a prison for the LORDS. If you have read previous books in this series you might have heard a lot about this place and not in a good way. It is referred to as the nightmare. Any lord who deviates from his path is captured and put into carnage where he is branded and kept for life. People slowly go insane in that place.
So this particular book is about Ashtyn and Saint. Saint chooses Ashtyn on his initiation day which was 6 years ago. At that time Fathers of the Spade brothers ran Carnage and things were pretty dark back then. Some kind of politics happens and family of one of the Spade brothers who was Ashtynβs father murdered along with her mother. Ashtynβs brother escaped but Ashtyn got captured by the Spade brothers. Saint protects her by keeping her in carnage and branding her with the stamp that was required for prisoners (sort of) to stay there.
Ashtyn was locked in a room but curiosity got the better of her and she started exploring. She saw some things she should not see. And the brothers were blackmailed using Ashtyn in some twisted ways. Long story short; things escalate and Ashtyn escapes from the Carnage. Now 6 years later she is working in a strip club and she is in an on-and-off relationship with some douche whereas some other man is her regular at the bar; meaning she is sort of living a free life mingling with several people at the same time.
Saint has been searching for her for the past 6 years and in the last book they capture Whitney who sort of knows where Ashtyn is. She gave up her location to save her own ass. So Saint finally finds her kidnaps her and again locks her in Carnage. And now a tug-of-war is going on between the two. Then another man came into the picture who had a twisted history with Ashtyn, he got her kidnapped and there were some very triggering situations but in the end, Saint rescued her and they lived happily ever after.
